It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Mechanical Engineering Department (MED) that I am honored to chair it. The aim and mission of the department is to pursue excellent and up-to-date knowledge and practicing in its scope of learning. The MED have played an effective role throughout more than ten years in providing the industry and engineering companies in different scopes with qualified graduates who are capable to contribute significantly to this important pillar sector of the nation. This achievement is a result of many attributes of the MED. On the top of these attributes comes the high calipered staff and teaching assistants who are dedicated to help the students and pursue the University Slogan “Learn how to think not what to think”. The staff high quality publications and excellence consultation activities continuously add to the MED reputation. Other attributes include the well-equipped labs and workshops; beside the efficient studying curriculum. The Mechanical Engineering Program covers several specializations that provide diverse of knowledge and information to the students and wide up their scope of employability.
The MED is an integral part of the Faculty of Engineering at the British University in Egypt (BUE); and participated effectively in accrediting the Faculty by The National Association of Quality of Education (NAQAAE). The MED is one of the highly demanded departments by the students because of its significant level of teaching and learning that is spotted up through the graduation project excellent outcomes and through the winning national and international contests. The MED staff have a strong relationships with the industry and this is reflected by annual meetings, linked graduation projects, and consultations. These relationships provide good opportunities for students training. The graduates of the MED always find opportunities of good jobs or for external scholarships to conduct post graduate studies.
