  • Bio:
    Prof. Vladimir Geroimenko was born in the Republic of Belarus. He has awarded a MSc degree in Physics and Mathematics from Vitebsk State University (1976), a PhD degree in the Methodology of Science from Belarusian Academy of Sciences (1982) and a higher DSc (Doctor of Sciences) degree in Cognitive Sciences from Belarusian State University (1990).  From 1982 to 1998, he worked at the Belarusian Academy of Sciences as Junior Researcher, Senior Researcher, and then as Leading Researcher and Head of the Research Group on the Methodology of Cognitive and Computer Sciences. From 1991 to 1993, he was Research Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany, and from 1995 to 1998 –  Visiting Professor at SSKKII Centre for Cognitive Science within Göteborg University and Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden. In 1998, he joined the University of Plymouth in the UK as Reader (Associate Professor) in Multimedia and Web Technology, and in 2004 became a British Citizen. In September 2016, he joined the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Science at the BUE. Prof. Vladimir Geroimenko has published 156 scientific works, including 14 books and 36 book chapters.

    • Research Methods and Methodological Problems of Computes Science.

    • Mobile augmented reality: user interfaces and human-computer interaction.
    • Interaction design for smartphone and augmented reality games.
    • Information visualisation.
    • Semantic and XML technologies.
  • Research projects: Recent research projects aimed at putting together a team of word-leading researchers and practitioners in order to produce a pioneering world-class research monograph and to publish it with Springer Verlag. He has initiated, organised, and edited each of the 6 published books.
