Augmented Reality Arts

Professor Vladimir Geroimenko has published a new book “Augmented Reality Art: From an Emerging Technology to a Novel Creative Medium”, Springer, 2018. This research monograph includes 384 pages and 21 chapters. Professor Geroimenko edited the book and also contributed to it with 3 chapters. The book was co-authored by 30 leading researchers and artists from 12 countries (Australia, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, UAE, UK, and USA). This is the second edition of the first ever book to explore the exciting new field of augmented reality art and its enabling technologies (the first edition was published in 2014). The new edition has been thoroughly revised and updated, and contains 5 new chapters. As well as investigating augmented reality as a novel artistic medium the book covers cultural, social, spatial and cognitive facets of augmented reality art. The Dedication Page of the book includes the following statement by the Editor:This pioneering book is dedicated to the future generations of augmented reality artists. Many thanks to the British University in Egypt (BUE) for the support, without which this new edition would not have been possible. The new book is available from Springer (www.springer.com/in/book/9783319699318 ), Amazon UK (www.amazon.co.uk/dp/3319699318/ ) and Amazon USA (www.amazon.com/dp/3319699318/ ).

ICSIE 2018 Overview
2018 7th International Conference on Software and Information Engineering (ICSIE 2018) will be held in Cairo, Egypt on May 4-6, 2018. ICSIE 2018 will offer an extensive program of interest to academia, government and industry. It will include several distinguished keynote speakers and three conference days full of parallel sessions, Cairo city visiting, etc. A series of exciting speeches to develop skills in and advance awareness of requirements engineering practices is of particular interest to industry.

The Mythical City of Cairo
Cairo is capital of Egypt, and one of the largest cities in Africa. Cairo has stood for more than 1,000 years on the same site on the banks of the Nile, primarily on the eastern shore, some 500 miles (800 km) downstream from the Aswān High Dam. Located in the northeast of the country, Cairo is the gateway to the Nile delta, where the lower Nile separates into the Rosetta and Damietta branches.
