Staff Development focuses on three key areas: a) Staff Induction, Probation and PDR, b) Assessment, Marking and Feedback and c) Teaching and Learning. Adequate developmental opportunities are made available to staff so that they can increase their knowledge, skills and performance that are essential to the University's mission and strategic objectives. Staff Development also focuses on two areas: Administrative Support Staff and Administrative Department Staff (i.e. IT, Public Relations and Communication, Marketing, FINANCE, Library, Student Activities and Student Affairs). Meetings have occurred with the University Staff Development Coordinator and the Heads of the Departments to elicit their training needs and that of their staff. The main aim of the training has thus far been to enhance the performance of staff in a number of areas related to their roles and responsibilities.
