· Prof. Shadia Sobhy Fahim, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities – BUE

· Prof. Eman El Mahallawi, Director of the Center for Renewable Energy at The British University in Egypt (BUE)

Summary of the Event:

The seminar discussion will be facilitated by Prof. Yehia Bahei El Din Vice President for Research and Postgraduate Studies at the BUE with an overview of the research activity at the BUE and its impact on ranking.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof. Shadia Sobhy Fahim will also raise awareness around peer review as a crucial part of scholarly communication which ensures that published research is trustworthy and accurate; Prof. Fahim will also highlight the importance of transparency in the peer review process across disciplines or the lack of it and how peer review can advance the work of early career researchers when they take part as blind reviewers.

Prof. Sherine Fouad Mazloum will share her experience as a Peer Reviewer and as a faculty member of a state owned university, Ain Shams University.

The seminar will conclude with Q&A and the dissemination of a pamphlet about the best practices for research and peer review in addition to a list of suggested journals which academic staff can volunteer their time and effort to being part of the process.
