Why study Pharmacy at BUE?
The Faculty of Pharmacy at BUE offers a unique programme with a British style of education of the highest quality, which equips graduates with the diverse pharmaceutical skills needed for various career paths. Pharmacists are key players in the health care team, whether in clinical wards, hospital or community pharmacies, providing the advanced knowledge of effectiveness and safety of drugs tailored to each individual patient. The BUE Pharmacy Programme, therefore, offers four Pharmacotherapy modules plus Pharmacy Practice, Community and Hospital pharmacy modules with advanced knowledge of Communication Skills, Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy and Histology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pharmacology & Toxicology.
Furthermore, the Programme offers advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical and analytical chemistry plus pharmaceutical compounding, to equip graduates with the special skills required for the development of new drugs and new formulations for the
pharmaceutical industry and for the production of drugs with international quality.
The Programme also offers modules such as Pharmacy Ethics & legislations, Phytotherapy, Pharmacy Management, Marketing & Pharmacoeconomics, and Pharmacovigilance. These modules provide graduates with the skills required to establish their own Pharmacy or to work in the field of drug promotion.
The BUE Pharmacy programme is unique in enabling students to gain additional knowledge and skills in one of four different specialties such as: Industrial Technology, New Drug Delivery & Cosmetics, Biological Drug Development, Chemical Drug Development. The British educational approach of the Programme is offered through the delivery of learning research methodologies in which students are required to design and execute a research graduation project in their chosen specialism.
How will you learn and be assessed?
Teaching involves a mix of lectures, tutorials, group working, private study and practical activities. Assessment involves submitting coursework, sitting exams, presentations and graduation research projects. Internships and professional practice externships are also obtained

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm ).
The Programme offers B Pharm not only equivalent to any Bachelor of Pharmacy from State and Private Universities in Egypt, but is also designed to match Master of Pharmacy (M Pharm) offered by British Universities.
Year 5 (120 credits at level H)
When can you apply for the Pharmacy Programme at BUE ?
- The early admission period begins in January of each academic year.
- Applicants are encouraged to apply early in order to secure a place.
- A final decision of acceptance will depend on your grades, results of the English placement test and approval of the Ministry of Higher Education.
- Once all places are occupied, the applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
