Dr. Farouk El-Baz is Director of the Center for Remote Sensing and Research Professor at the Departments of Archaeology and Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Associated Faculty at the Department of Earth and Environment, Boston University, Boston, MA, U.S.A. Dr. ElBaz is a member of the British University in Egypt board of trusties. He served as science adviser to President Anwar Sadat, and is presently a member of the Advisory Council of Scientists and Experts to The President of Egypt.
Prof. Hisham Elkadi
Dr. Hisham Elkadi is the Dean of Architecture and the Built Environment at the University of Salford. Professor Elkadi was the Chair and Head of School of Architecture and Built Environment at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia since 2009. His academic career with a Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool: research associate at the University of Liverpool, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Plymouth, Director of Architecture programme at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and Chair of School of Architecture & Design in Belfast.
Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Rahim
Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Rahim is professor in the civil engineering department at the University of Idaho, USA and the director of the University’s National Institute for Advanced Transportation Technology (NIATT). Professor Abdel-Rahim has 22 years of academic experience and has managed more than 65 research projects in the areas of sustainable transportation systems, eco-traffic operation and control, traffic modeling and simulation, security and survivability of ITS networks, real-time control systems, and traffic safety, with 58 publications in these areas.
Prof. Nabil El-Tayeb
Dr. Nabil El-Tayeb is Professor of Mechanical Design/Tribology and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department at (BUE), Professor Nabil El-Tayeb gained his PhD from Leeds University, UK (1986), attended his MSc at Aston University in Birmingham, UK (1982), and received his first-degree “BSc” distinction with honor from Helwan University-Cairo (1977). He worked at many of Egyptian Universities, Leeds University-UK, Faculty of Engineering & Technology (Multimedia University – FET, MMU, Melaka, Malaysia), and the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya (UM) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Bakr M. Aly Ahmed
Bakr Aly Ahmed has nearly 27 years of academic and teaching experience in architecture and design criticism. Prior to joining the faculty of NDSU, he has completed his Ph.D. in Environmental Design and Planning from Virginia Tech and a Master in architecture focusing on prefabrication of building and the mass production of housing projects. In parallel, he has maintained a professional practice of consultant and design work in numerous projects included beach resorts, housing developments, and mix-use urban projects. His research interest is focuses on sustainable design modeling, environmental capacity measurements, and simulation modeling for pedestrian movement in large buildings.
Dr. Tarek Rashed
Dr. Tarek Rashed is the Director of Geoinformatics at the Polis Center, IUPUI. He is a Geospatial Information Technologies Research Scientist with over 23 years of experience in GIS and spatial decision making and their applications. He has a BS in Architecture Engineering (Assiut University, Egypt), a Masters in Computer Science (University of Manchester, UK), and a doctorate in Geography (Joint Doctoral Program of San Diego State University and University of California, Santa Barbra, USA). Rashed has published and presented extensively; accomplishments include a text book in remote sensing.
Dr. Mohamed Gamal
Dr.Mohamed Gamal Abdelmonem is an award winning Chartered Architect, Scholar and Head of the Digital Heritage Research Unit, and Head of Humanities at the University of Wolverhampton. He is Director and Principal Investigator of the International Networks of “Virtual Heritage Cairo” (VHC) and “Spaces of Liberation” (SoL). He obtained his PhD Degree from University of Sheffield. Dr. Abdelmonem held visiting professorship positions at The University of California at Berkeley and The Royal College of Arts in London. Dr. Abdelmonem has published numerous articles on socio-spatial.
Dr Al Moataz Hassan
Dr. Al Moataz is Senior Lecturer; Department of Planning and Geography; School of Built Environment; Curtin University, Australia. He obtained his PhD Degree from Oxford Brookes University, UK. Al-Moataz Hassan was a Research Fellow in Urban Sustainability and the City Form Consortium project manager. He has extensive experience with consultancies and international agencies including UNDP and the DFID. His teaching and research interests include urban development and environmental planning and management.
