Scholarships

Scholarship Terms & Conditions

Applicants are eligible for various scholarships according to their academic, sporting and other achievements in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (Official documents must be submitted before 31 October 2010):

  • An applicant who qualifies for more than one scholarship will be awarded whichever scholarship is the highest.
  • All scholarship discounts apply to the Tuition Fees only.
  • Except for the Partner Schools Scholarship, all scholarships are one year awards and are re-evaluated at the beginning of every academic year based on the student’s academic, sporting and other achievements during the previous year, as appropriate.
  • All scholarships are granted on the condition that the student successfully progresses to the following year.
  • • Accepted applicants who do not qualify for any of the scholarships are entitled to a deduction of 10% of tuition fee instalments on the condition that they submit all the required documents and pay the fee instalments by the announced dates for each semester.
  • • Continuing students who do not qualify for any of the scholarships are entitled to a deduction of 10% of tuition fee instalments provided that the outstanding fees are paid no later than 31st of August 2010 for the first semester and 31st of January 2011 for the second semester

Early Admission Scholarship

An Early Admission Scholarship of 5% will be granted if full payment of the net annual fees is made before 15 July 2010 and 3% will be granted if full payment of the net annual fees is made before 15 August 2010.

New and Continuing Students’ Scholarships

Academic Achievement Scholarship

Accepted applicants achieving top grades in Secondary/High school will be granted the following academic scholarships:

Continuing BUE students must maintain a high academic performance each academic year in order to retain their scholarships as shown in the table below:

Note: Students who have not maintained a scholarship, or who have joined BUE with no scholarship but have managed to raise their BUE yearly average to one of the above levels in subsequent years, will become eligible for an Academic Achievement Scholarship according to their academic performance.

Sports Achievement Scholarship

Accepted applicants with top sporting achievements will be granted the following sports scholarships (official sports certificate must be submitted):

International Championship

50% for first, second and third places

National Championship

25% for first, second and third places

Egyptian Universities Championship

15% for first, second and third places

Partner School Scholarship

Accepted applicants from Partner Schools will be granted a 20% scholarship for the duration of their degree programmes (4 or 5 years). Please contact the Student Affairs Office for more information about Secondary/High schools that have been designated as Partner Schools.

Sibling Scholarship

If more than one sibling is studying at BUE, each sibling will be granted a 10% scholarship as long as they are all registered and in good standing (pass).

BUE Staff Scholarship

Sons and daughters of BUE Staff will be granted a 25% scholarship as long as they are registered and in good standing (pass).

Egyptian State University Staff Scholarship

Sons and daughters of Academic Staff of Egyptian State Universities will be granted a 15% scholarship as long as they are registered and in good standing (pass).

Deceased Guardian Scholarship

Students who suffer the death of their guardian while studying at BUE will be granted a 50% scholarship as long as they are registered and in good standing (pass).

Special Scholarship

Special Scholarships are offered to qualified applicants in the name of individuals. BUE offers 100% scholarships in the names of HE Suzanne Mubarak, HRH Prince of Wales, Mr. Moataz El-Alfy and Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis. Please contact the Student Affairs Office for more information about these scholarships and eligibility criteria. In addition, the first ten students out of the Top 100 Thanaweya Amma students are eligible to receive a 100% scholarship funded by the MF Khamis Foundation
