BUE: “Best University Ever”
It is my greatest pleasure to announce the inauguration of BUE. Since 1998 the British and the Egyptian Governments have had a vision to provide a UK - style of higher education in Egypt producing top quality graduates. The BUE provides a distinctive British contribution to higher education in Egypt. The BUE differs from other private universities by offering non-traditional and new fields of study.
The university will enjoy strong links with business partners in Egypt and in the UK, leading to training opportunities and internships for its students in Egypt and abroad. Graduates will be able to continue their postgraduate studies either locally, in the UK or in other universities overseas.
The teaching, learning and social experience gained at BUE will prepare the graduates for high flying careers. The students will learn through a hands-on approach using state-of-the- art technology. Personal tuition and support will also play an important part in their learning. A high expectation leads to a high achievement, hence, a never ending scope of opportunity, and that is why I encourage you to lengthen your expectations of the BUE and hold tight to my assurance that our achievements will continuously rise to meet and fast surpass those challenges.
The University aims to help students build their future, and to work closely with them providing the opportunities to succeed. In a dynamic world we are constantly faced with ever changing and highly challenging business and technology environments, therefore equipping students with all encompassing education in these fields is absolutely essential.
The University will keep pace with developments in the world of academics, work and the modern economy, through innovative areas of study, constantly updating and increasing the range of programmes available in the market place.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we are proud to have the opportunity to develop the futures of a promising generation of tomorrow's top leaders. We offer you the warmest of welcomes and very best wishes for your future success.

Welcome to the British University in Egypt,
I hope you find the information on the BUE Website helpful whether you are a registered student, a prospective student, a visitor, or a friend.
Top British universities have a worldwide reputation for educational excellence and for high standards of learning and research. BUE brings the best of British higher education to Egypt and the Middle East.
BUE offers a unique educational experience that brings the resources found at major research universities together with personal care for every student. BUE is a research-led university, where research plays an important role not only in the advancement of knowledge, but also in solving relevant problems that face the Egyptian and international communities.
BUE aims to provide an academic environment which encourages and draws together research, learning and teaching and to provide a broad student experience, producing graduates equipped with the tools enabling them to continue learning and developing throughout their careers.
Besides the currently offered undergraduate degree programmes in Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, Engineering, Informatics & Computer Science, and Nursing, BUE plans to offer programmes in Arts & Humanities, Education and Communication & Media studies.
The greatest and most rewarding investment that parents can make is to provide their sons and daughters with the best possible education. The BUE offers both an education that matches that of top universities in the UK and degrees that are accredited in Egypt and at the same time validated in the UK.
I wish you success in your education and life.

The British Embassy and the British Council are proud to be associated with the BUE, not simply because it is British, but because it aims to give its students the equivalent experience to being in a British university without leaving Egypt. This experience aims to produce graduates who not only have an excellent command of their chosen subject, but also possess the life skills that the employers of today expect, such as leadership, team working and critical thinking. It does this because it takes the student as a starting point and develops his or her ability to learn effectively. This approach to education is modelled on that of our best universities in the UK, and is at the heart of Britain's international reputation for educational excellence.
I expect the BUE over the coming years to become the focal point for UK higher education in Egypt, and in the wider region, providing not just top class student undergraduate education, but a whole range of educational and research programmes that meet the needs of industry and the community around it.

Around the world, education is a fast changing concept. This is particularly so in higher and professional education, easing an aspiring young generation into the world of work. The communications revolution has made many more millions of young people realise that they too can access learning, skills and self-development to have more control over their own vocational ambitions as well as enhancing the pleasure they take in knowledge of the world around them.
Rising to this challenge of global aspiration, pioneering universities are ignoring the unnecessary barriers of nationality and are playing to their name – these universities are making a universal offer and ensuring that these new international opportunities are realised. Institutions with long established reputations are encouraging the growth of distance schemes and of live campuses in other parts of the world.
The exciting emergence of the BUE is a shining example of such modern enterprise. It takes the name ‘British’ but is founded in another continent to help meet the needs of the new Egypt and a generation determined to participate in the inspiring development of their country.
Geography is irrelevant to the British-ness of BUE; what is British is the quality and experience of best learning and teaching provision which can only have matured in a higher education culture of centuries’ experience and unquestionable international acclaim.
BUE represents a new partnership between Egypt and the UK, a partnership that brings our peoples together. The world’s professional and cultural health and wealth depends on the development of bold working and learning relationships such as this. The British Council is proud to be associated with the enterprise of BUE as an inspiring sign of our times and educational way to the future.
