Prof. Motaz Khorshid
The Vice President of the British University in Egypt
Welcome Note
Dear Students

I am pleased to congratulate you on being member of the British University in Egypt (BUE) and to benefit from its unique structure, attractive education and research features as well as its important role as a leading Egyptian private university and a British-style higher education institution. May I briefly deal with these issues.

First, the BUE is a non-profit institution that adopts the approach, style, norms and quality assurance policies of the British higher education system. It relies on a highly qualified teaching staff composed of British, European and Egyptian professors. As a student of the BUE, you can benefit from both a UK-validated award and an Egyptian degree validated by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities (SCU). As a graduate of BUE you can continue your post graduate studies in the UK or join the British labor market.

Second, since its establishment in 2005, the BUE is building its reputation as a research-intensive university that applies a research-informed education. It has currently three advanced research centers with a special unit for training and community services.

Third, the BUE is aiming at strengthening its international profile, recognition, and adapting the internationalization strategy of the UNESCO.

I wish you all a successful and pleasant study period in BUE.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Motaz Khorshid,
